What type of record is required to be maintained under the Act by a principal employer or contractor?
It is the duty of every principal employer and every contractor to maintain records giving particulars of contract labour employed, the nature of work performed by the contract labour, the rates of wages paid to the contract labour, etc. as per rules framed under the Act. It is also their duty to exhibit in the premises of the establishment notices containing particulars about the hours of work, nature of duty, etc. as per rules framed under the Act.
