Is it permissible for a workman or an employer to appoint a lawyer to represent him in any proceeding under the Act?

(1) A party to a dispute is totally prohibited from appointing a lawyer to represent it in any conciliation proceedings.
(2) A party to a dispute is allowed to appoint a lawyer to represent it before a Labour Court, an Industrial Tribunal or a National Industrial Tribunal if the other parties give consent and the Labour Court, Industrial Tribunal or National Industrial Tribunal gives permission to do so. S.36(3) and (4)
