Is an employee entitled to be paid bonus for the period during which he is suspended from employment and is paid subsistence allowance?

An employee must be taken to have not worked during the period of his suspension. During the period of his suspension he is paid subsistence allowance which is not salary or wages for work done and which is not an amount paid by way of remuneration. He is therefore not entitled to be paid bonus for the period.
