Is it Obligatory for a private security agency to issue a uniform to its security guards and supervisors ?
The Central Model Rules do not make it obligatory for a private security agency to issue a uniform to its security guards and supervisors, but the said Rules and the Maharashtra Rules provide as follows.
Every private security agency will issue and make it obligatorv for its security guard to put on:
(a) an arm badge distinguishing the agency;
(b) shoulder or chest badge to indicate his position in the organisation;
(c) whistle attached to the whistle cord and to be kept in the left pocket;
(d) shoes with eyelet and laces;
(e) a headgear which may also carry the distinguishing mark or the agency;
(f) a notebook and a writing instrument;
(g) a photo-identity card.
