Workman cannot be put under suspension for indefinite and exhorbitant period pending investigation. - The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947

For delay in investigation on the part of the management the workman cannot be put to suffer the hardship of suspension for any exorbitant and indefinite period. Management must consider at the time of issuing a suspension order as to how much time will be taken for investigation in the matter for initiation of disciplinary proceedings. Workman cannot be put under suspension merely because the investigation is an on-going process.
