In case of illegal termination, lumpsum compensation of 8 lakh would be appropriate when employee completed 8 years of service. - THE EMPLOYEES COMPENSATION ACT, 1923

When termination of services of the workman is held as illegal being done without any enquiry, lumpsum compensation of Rs. 8.00 lacs considering 8 years unblemished continuous service and last drawn salary of Rs. 20,000 per month, is an adequate amount. Workman is also entitled to interest @9% per annum on the amount of compensation from the date of award.
