Trainee is not covered under EPF Act. - The Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952

A trainee, not covered under the Apprentice Act or Standing Orders, if not performing regular job i.e., if regular production of the establishment is not dependent upon his performance, the provisions of the Act are not applicable to such a trainee. Without recording statement of any such trainee, as employed, to the effect that they are performing regular job or the production is fully dependents upon their performance, they are not to be covered under the Act by the EPF Authority under the proceedings under Section 7-A of the Act.
