FAQ
The object of the Act is to provide for fixing and revising minimum wages in certain employments in order to stop sweated labour and prevent the exploitation of nu-organised labour.
Wages averaging less than Rs.18,000 per month only are covered or protected by the Act with effect from 11.9.2012.
The factories and establishments employing less than fifty workmen are excluded from the application of the Act.
